What is a "share"?

A "share" is a box of produce. Every week the variety of produce included in a "share" will change depending on the season and what is available.

 

Are you wondering how the shares work, and how it will save you money? Becoming a member of Local Organic gains you access to the freshest local (when available) organic produce without the grocery store mark-up. To become a member there is an annual $55 fee (which helps cover your reusable totes). After that, you only have to pay for the "shares" when you want to order one. Membership is renewable annually for $55. Members receive 5% off all products at Local Organics Health Food & Wellness Centre in Seaforth.  Please visit the Become a Member tab to join.

     

How do we make this possible? We purchase our produce in bulk quantities and then share it with our members. This keeps the costs low for everyone.

How to place your order 

To place your weekly order for Local Organics Produce Shares, you simply reply to the email you received regarding the current weeks produce shares stating the size of share (Full, Half or Fruit).

All orders must be received by noon on Monday.  You will receive a reply back by noon on Tuesday confirming that we have received your order.

Add On's & Swap Outs

We will have extra produce available at the store, that you can add to your shares at pick up on Wednesday.  If you feel that a large share is not enough, think about adding a half or fruit share to your order as well.  We welcome any feedback on the size and contents of the shares.
 

Swap outs will be run by a point system at the time of pick-up.

Please note: in order to keep our costs low for all members, there is a maximum of 2 swap outs per share.  Thank you for your understanding.

Swap outs are ONLY available at the store, if you receive your order through delivery and would like something different than what is offered in the full or half share, we ask that you order a custom share.

Pick Up - Seaforth
Pick up is between 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Wednesdays at Local Organics Health Food & Wellness Centre, 220 Main St South, Seaforth, ON N0K 1W0.

Totes
Please return your empty bin each week (clean and dry) and take home a fully loaded one with all your goodies inside!! If you forget your tote, there is a $10 charge that is refunded upon return.

Referral Program
As a thank you for supporting Local Organics, we are happy to offer a Member Referral Program. For each new member that signs up as a referral (gives your name at the time of sign up), you will receive 5 swap points when they place their first order. These swap points will allow you to add to or swap out items from your share. Referral names are limited to one per new member. Receiving referrals and growing our membership, allows us to keep costs lower by buying our produce in bulk and to offer more variety in our shares!

What is included in the shares? Every week we will choose a number of different produce items that range from apples, to zucchini, insuring a great variety every week! Members will receive a weekly email informing them what will be included in the share that week. If there is an item that you wish to swap out for another, there will be alternatives to choose from the evening of your pick-up.

Share sizes are as follows;

     A full share will cost $50

     A half share will cost $25

     A custom share will cost $4 packaging fee + the cost of produce chosen

* Please note that custom shares must be created using produce listed in full and half share list.

Please note: this example is only provided to show you what may be included in one of your shares. We cannot promise anything due to the unpredictable nature of this market. As a member you are not required to order every week, only when you wish to receive a share.
